Our Story

Originally located here at 20 Anson Street, Olde Towne Carriage started providing carriage tours in Charleston, SC some 25 years ago. In October of 2013, their owner left the industry and opportunity knocked. That knock was answered by the minority partner in another local carriage company here and a few key members of his staff. They brought their combined Charleston carriage tour experience of nearly 60 years to Anson Street—and Charleston Carriage Works was born!

We immediately established this company as a reflection of our very high standards. The goal was to improve on every aspect of carriage rides and tours. Everything from staff and animals to the building and carriages has been carefully chosen to reflect a commitment to providing quality tours. This process is ongoing and will always continue. While we may be the newest carriage tour company in Charleston SC, our experienced team will ensure that your expectations will be exceeded.
